Mount Pleasant, Texas — The NTCC men's soccer team closed out their longest road trip of 2026 to Blinn and Texas Southmost with a 4-2 victory over Texas Southmost in Brownsville, TX.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

FROM THE COACH:

"Southmost is a worthy opponent and are always a tough out at home. These back to backs are difficult, especially with the heat this year and the travel. Credit to the young men for seeing the game out and getting a valuable 3 points."

"The guys has been battling, and we knew it was just a matter of time before things broke in our favor.  It sure felt good to see the ball hitting the back of the net and the final score in our favor at the end.  We have to be more consistent. We have talked about putting together 2 good halfs,  which we haven't done yet. This league is tough and can be unforgiving.  We have a young group and if we want to go far, we must be consistent with our work each day, play both sides of the ball, and put together a full 90 minutes to get results."

"We will enjoy this for tonight, and get back to work in preparation for our North Division schedule"
